Jabad Peru was founded in 1987 by Rabbi Schneur Zalman Blumenfeld and his wife, Rebbetzin Sterna - Head Shluchim (Chabad emissaries) sent by The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi MM Schneorson.
Rabbi Blumenfeld together with his wife, have established many programs to revitalize Jewish life in the Capital of Lima and the surrounding area.
Today, Jabad Peru is a vibrant organization, focused on strengthening Jewish awareness and pride while providing for the material and spiritual needs of every Jew regardless of their background, status, or wealth.
Besides for servicing the residents of Lima, Chabad Peru opens its doors to business people and tourists who travel throughout the year. Chabad is here to serve as a “home away from home” helping to take care of their Jewish needs as they are passing through.
